If you are struggling with acne, please understand that there are many different reasons why you have developed this skin problem.

A lot of people think that there is some sort of magic bullet, one size fits all or some cookie cutter solution. Unfortunately, this is not the case; depending on your skin type, your lifestyle, your diet and many other factors, you have to come up with a specific solution that makes sense in your particular situation.

Otherwise, you’re probably not going to clear up your skin any time soon.

Two of the biggest factors in determining which treatment method you should use are the persistence and severity of your breakouts. A lot of people think that they can use a solution that is good for a light breakout if they have very severe acne and vice versa.

It is no surprise that they don’t quite get the relief that they are looking for. Their skin doesn’t clear up and they just end up frustrated.

Pay attention to just how persistent and severe your breakouts are, so you can start filtering the different acne treatment methods out there. In terms of the treatments itself, there are topical, oral or even nonsurgical procedures. You have to consider these very carefully.

Don’t think that just because you have one particular option, that it would work optimally for you. Just because your friend had a great result with it, that doesn’t necessarily mean that that particular acne treatment will work for you.

It is also very important to make sure that even though you’re getting laser light therapy or some sort of nonsurgical dermatological procedure or you’re using topical or oral solutions that these will take time.

Don’t expect overnight results. One of the worst things that you could do for yourself is to expect your skin to clear up overnight. It usually doesn’t work out that way.

Keep these different methods of acne treatment in mind when you’re trying to map out a particular personal solution that would lead you to the outcome you’re looking for.
